Weight loss and diet are important for those at risk of diabetes.
But which diet for weight loss is best for those who suffer from diabetes?
A recent clinical trial
To answer this question, a recent clinical trial called The Diabetes Prevention Program investigated the physical activity and diet of diabetic patients.
The researchers aimed to find connections between micronutrients of diet such as carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, and their effects on the physiology of a diabetic individual.
The study found that carbohydrate intake did not affect the patient’s initial weight and dietary fiber did not have any harmful effects.
However, they found that fats were positively associated with an increase in initial weight.
